The Final Weeks of Pregnancy

Alli is certainly enjoying the final weeks of this pregnancy. I am way too tired and lazy to enforce any rules or promote any positive behavior.
Here is proof. She is eating dinner (fish fillet + ketchup with strawberry milk) while sitting in front of the DVD player watching Dora. Not a vegetable in sight. I think it is even past her bedtime! It could be worse. She could be watching MTV, eating chips and drinking Mt. Dew.
Only a month left. Hopefully Alli won't pick up too many bad habits in that time.

Reunited with Iowa Friends

Alli and I went to Cleveland a couple weeks ago. We got to catch up with some friends from Iowa, who unfortunately are stuck in Cleveland for the year.

Secret Love

I have always held a special place in my heart for my crockpot, but have never had the opportunity to really express my love...until now. I am not quite as motivated as the woman who writes this blog, but she is truly an inspiration.
Thanks for the link Lisa!

Yes, I would like some cheese with my whine.

My husband is sick of hearing me complain about being pregnant, so you are my next victim. I am publicly announcing that I am convinced this baby is a BOY! No, this is not confirmed by ultrasound. It is confirmed by the misery that I did NOT endure with my first pregnancy. My back aches, my legs and feet are swelling, my pubic bone is splitting apart...I could go on and on.
My attitude stinks and I am ready for this to be over! However, I still have 6 weeks to go.
Speak up mothers of more than one! Is this characteristic of a second pregnancy? This certainly is not the bliss I recall the first time around. Maybe that is just it! First time pregnant women get fooled with all the hype of becoming a new parent and are too busy buying all the crap recommended for new babies to notice what is going on with their body. It is all smoke and mirrors! The second time around, there is no hype. You know what to expect. You know what stuff you need. That leaves too much room to notice how uncomfortable carrying a child around in your abdomen really is. How much more "stretchy" your body is. How maternity clothing does nothing to make you feel good about your self. How heavy the 2 year old has become. How little your bladder holds.
I am too old for this.

Finally! A use for that scanner.

Maybe I haven't been a parent long enough. Or perhaps, I don't have enough kids yet. But I just can't seem to get rid of any of the "art" that Alli brings home from daycare. However, unlike the genes I have been born with, I am not a pack-rat (no offense to you Mom). I certainly am not going to actually keep all of this "art". That would take up an entire room by the time she quits bringing masterpieces home. Nor do I have the time to select pieces to frame and hang up. So, I finally have found a use for our scanner. I love technology.
