Best Friends

Alli & I met up with Oliver and his Mom for a morning at the zoo. Alli & Oliver are just a few days apart in age and have known each other since birth. Their Dads went to school together and are slaves to the same residency program. Hence the Mommies and kids are at the zoo and the Daddies are at work.

I will spare you all the pictures of all the routine zoo animals, but must show you one of the newest additions to the Pittsburgh Zoo. A Baby Elephant!
These two kids get along so well. They play together so happily and have yet to fight over a toy. Alli will cry for Oliver when she doesn't see him for a week or so.

What do you make of this sidewalk art by Alli?

The sleepy head being aroused early in the morning so Mommy can get to work on time. Unlike her Mommy or Daddy, who don't get to play all day with friends at daycare, she wakes with a smile most mornings.

Here are a few of Alli's 2 year old pictures. Now Grandmas and rest of the family...don't get all uptight that you don't have your paws on these pics yet! I have real live pics for you. I just have to find some spare time to get them packaged up and sent. Of course, that may be 2011, when Dan completes his tour of duty here and I actually have free time to do things like that. In the meanwhile, enjoy looking at these.

What any good therapist would recommend

Desperate for relief of my severe case of homesickness, I sought out the nearest state park and drug my family out for a hike. It wasn't the Rocky Mtns by any stretch of the imagination. However, being surrounded by nature was good for my soul. Plus, we got a little exercise (Dan more than I, since he carried Alli in the pack).
