What a Good Sport!

This is my sister's oldest, who is 13, and youngest, who is 4. I don't know any other 13 year old boys who would let their little sister "do" their hair and apply make up. He is a great big brother!

The only part of the house that we have unpacked and decorated

Here are a few pics of the exterior of our new home. It is about 3 times the size of our prior home. We now have elbow and breathing room, plus a place to put all our crap!

Back yard. Small, but just the right size. It is a triangular shaped. At the very tip of the triangle there is an area about 5 ft long for a garden. I am so excited, but better get busy. The growing season is well underway!

Oh, by the way...

Our life is going to get more adventurous in December. We're having another baby!

Our moving adventure

Although it seemed like it happened ages ago, I have yet to share the experience of moving from Des Moines to Pittsburgh. Let's just say it is REALLY FAR in a Penske truck (loaded to the top) while towing a car (also loaded to the top). Our max travelling speed was about 60mph the WHOLE way. We made it (eventually) without any problems. We are still trying to unpack and that may take years. I promise to post pics of the house soon!

She's 2! She's full of energy and learning how to test the boundaries. She is learning any new word you can throw at her, so we really have to watch our language! She loves Dora and Elmo, playing outside and is obssessed with making sure everyone around her has shoes on.

Been delayed by moving across the country

We've been preoccupied by boxes lately. Sorry for no recent posts. As you can probably know, we lost Boone the day before we moved. Just stress upon stress. With heavy hearts, we made the 2 day trip to Pittsburgh in a 26 ft (or maybe it was 26,000 pound) truck towing the car behind. It was pretty slow going since the truck only moves about 60 mph when it is filled to the top with all our worldly possessions. We arrived in Pittsburgh safely and closed without a hitch. We got the truck unpacked on the only sunny day we had seen in weeks, only to experience the dreary rain of Pittsburgh for the following week of unpacking.

We arrived back in Des Moines last week for the hoopla associated with graduation. The rain followed us here and made for more dreariness. Dan graduated on Saturday. It was a wonderful finale to a long hard haul. We also made it a little family reunion. Dan's parents and brother drove out, as well as my Mom, sister and 4 nephews and niece. It was great to see everyone although our time together seemed so short. Dave, Dan and Coley turned any spare time into a golfing marathon fitting in 80 holes of golf despite the rain. We had a great time in all.

We are headed back to our new home tomorrow with our boxes to greet us. Alli turns 2 on Thursday, I start work of Friday and Dan has ANOTHER set of board exams to take next week. Ugh!! It never ends! Hopefully, it will settle down after that. We are ready for that.
