Sitting pretty

Mommy's laundry helper. Even if she is just holding down the basket. I'll have her matching up socks and folding towels in no time! Now that I mention it, it sure would be nice if she could help with all the dirty laundry a baby creates.

Alli is usually a thumb sucker, but recently she discovered her big toe. Now she likes to chew on her shoes too! Amazing how flexible kids are. Then we grow up and become stiff. I guess that theory applies to many aspects when comparing childhood to adulthood.

OK I was feeling a little lazy and didn't really want to lean over the bathtub to give Alli her nighttime bath. I figured what the heck, sink...tub...they both hold water and I can stand at the sink!! Plus we have the advantage of using the sprayer to rinse off with. She loved the new scenery and "toys" to play with, like the bottle brush and clean dishes in the drainer to her right. Best of all, the sink must be free from dirty dishes to use it, so they actually make it to the dishwasher and the kitchen is tidy.

Walks on Cold Days

Remember that little boy on The Christmas Story whose Mom bundles him in his snowsuit and so many layers he can't hardly move around? Yeah that is my daughter! Actually her suit is on the big side and she doesn't move around too much anyway!

She was all bundled up for a stoller ride to take Boone for a walk.

She's buried in there somewhere!

Oh there she is! We are doing our best to get outside in this cold weather. Otherwise we get a little stircrazy in the house, especially Boone! Poor dog!

Not today though! It is only 10 degrees had we have a whole lot of snow on the ground. We are wimps.

All I could think of when I saw her hair like this is the terrible 80's band Flock of Seagulls. As I recall the lead singer had some funky hairdo that did something really crazy in the front. Then I was just stuck with "I ran. I ran so far away..." I'd better stop. I'm dating myself!

"Brimming"

Yes, she is nawing on the brim of Dan's hat! She loves to chew on it. Granted she is a baby and babies chew on everything, but the hat brim caught me off guard and struck me as quite funny.

Well so much for my resolution of frequent postings for 2007! I've never been too big on resolutions anyway. Life is just moving right along for us. Dan is busy learning, I am busy working, Alli is busy growing and being cute and Boone is busy napping. We are lacking drama, which is just how we like it!

The weather has finally gotten cold around here. With all the snow all you folks to the west got, we were beginning to feel left out. Lucky us, we now have snow, low temps AND freezing rain.

2006 Year in Review III

Alli had her part in canning peaches and making jam this summer. I was able to accomplish a lot by "wearing" my baby this summer. I still put her in the front pack on occasion, but I it is more like "lugging" rather than "wearing".

2006 Year in Review II

For a split second, Uncle Coley and Aunt Lisa (parents to four fabulous girls) secretly considered having one more girl after meeting Allison. Ha Ha!!




Mama Sal put us up for a couple of days during our trek across the West this summer. Alli was 6 weeks old when she went on this trip.

Grandma Linda did the same. Those Grandmas just can't seem to get enough of their grandkids!

Aunt Kristy and cousin Rebeka got some cuddle time with Alli. Rebeka loves babies and dolls. I hear all her dollies are named "Baby Alli". I hope Alli ends up with a headful of beautiful curls like Rebeka.

2006. Year in Review Part I

The first half of 2006 was spent preparing for the arrival of Allison. A baby shower was held in her (however we didn't know it was a her) honor in late April. As a surprise, Sally, Mom, Kristy, Grandma piled in Kristy's van for a road trip. I loved having them here and I think they had a lot of fun...just the girls.

Not my most flattering picture, but I thought it was pretty remarkable being pregnant. This was just 3 days before Alli was born.

This is not Allison's most flattering picture either, but she had just made a quick trip into this world.

Oh my, I can hardly remember her being that small! Now, she hardly fits in this chair!

Alli made her first trip the the Grand Daddy of 'em all in 2006.
