Sweet potatoes are the latest spa botanical to explode into the world of baby beauty products. As you can see Allison just can't get enough of this hot new trend. She has generously applied it to her face and hands for an all-over glow you just can't get from regular potatoes. She'd apply it as a body wrap if she could just get naked enough to do so.

Why is it that bathtime provides so many great photo opportunities. We have more bath pictures than I know what to do with!! Alli would appreciate any tips on rinsing the soap from the hair without "rinsing" the eyeballs too?



Allison is learning to use the big spoon. At least she has the correct end in her mouth.

Grandma Sally came to visit for the weekend. She and Alli got to spend some quality time getting to know each other. We enjoyed her visit and hope we see her again soon! The same goes for any other family members reading this who we haven't seen in a while!

Out on one of our shopping excursions this weekend, we found these little sunglasses. Like all cute stuff for kids one sees at the store, I couldn't pass them up. Alli was actually sleeping when I slipped them on her for this photo. Who knows if she will really wear them when she is awake. But doesn't she look cool?

Well, I had a handful of pictures to post today, but I can't get the photos to upload. I guess just a slow computer today, but maybe I am just a computer idiot. I'll try again later. Until then, enjoy your day!

Savvy Layout?

We recently bought a new digital camera to replace our old dinosaur of one. So far, so good. We are still figuring out how to run it, but are happy with the results. Alli has been the subject of the many "test shots" in the learning period. This is one of them. As you can see, she is no longer feeling too photogenic. The flash has probably blinded her by this point, but look...no red eye! Actually no red eye because of the handy editing software.

I was trying to be savvy in my layout of this post. My goal was to not have the pictures right in the center but off to the left and right with text beside them. Believe me it is much harder than one would think! I thought I had all the text to the side of each picture (or at least it appears that way as I create the post) but then I published it and it just didn't work out right! Had to edit. I think the pictures need to be smaller. But that defeats the purpose of this blog!




















Peas and carrots. We have a little song that I have made up about peas and carrots that we (meaning Dan sings it too) sing at mealtime. I mentioned this at work the other day and all the Moms admitted to making up songs for or about their children. I just love that someone likes listening to me sing and giggles when I dance. Well, most people would giggle if they saw me dance.

I love pictures that capture special moments. This is one of them. My absolutely two most favorite people in the world!

Sitting pretty

Mommy's laundry helper. Even if she is just holding down the basket. I'll have her matching up socks and folding towels in no time! Now that I mention it, it sure would be nice if she could help with all the dirty laundry a baby creates.

Alli is usually a thumb sucker, but recently she discovered her big toe. Now she likes to chew on her shoes too! Amazing how flexible kids are. Then we grow up and become stiff. I guess that theory applies to many aspects when comparing childhood to adulthood.

OK I was feeling a little lazy and didn't really want to lean over the bathtub to give Alli her nighttime bath. I figured what the heck, sink...tub...they both hold water and I can stand at the sink!! Plus we have the advantage of using the sprayer to rinse off with. She loved the new scenery and "toys" to play with, like the bottle brush and clean dishes in the drainer to her right. Best of all, the sink must be free from dirty dishes to use it, so they actually make it to the dishwasher and the kitchen is tidy.

Walks on Cold Days

Remember that little boy on The Christmas Story whose Mom bundles him in his snowsuit and so many layers he can't hardly move around? Yeah that is my daughter! Actually her suit is on the big side and she doesn't move around too much anyway!

She was all bundled up for a stoller ride to take Boone for a walk.

She's buried in there somewhere!

Oh there she is! We are doing our best to get outside in this cold weather. Otherwise we get a little stircrazy in the house, especially Boone! Poor dog!

Not today though! It is only 10 degrees had we have a whole lot of snow on the ground. We are wimps.

All I could think of when I saw her hair like this is the terrible 80's band Flock of Seagulls. As I recall the lead singer had some funky hairdo that did something really crazy in the front. Then I was just stuck with "I ran. I ran so far away..." I'd better stop. I'm dating myself!
